چکیده

BACKGROUND: Erythropoietin (EPO) is the main stimulator of erythropoiesis, but EPO also has non-hematopoietic effects. The recent data show positive effects on tissue regeneration. AIM: This review aims to know highlights pathophysiological mechanisms at different stages regeneration, and possible clinical applications in wound healing. METHODS: A literature considering reviews, studies, original papers, articles from electronic been used. RESULTS: Analysis animal studies several trials using context healing revealed that a effect all regeneration process may be promising therapeutic strategy for treatment chronic wounds. CONCLUSION: An improved understanding functions regulatory lead new considerations this growth hormone its regular application patients.

Recombinant human erythropoietin stimulates angiogenesis and wound healing in the genetically diabetic mouse.

The effects of recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) in diabetes-related healing defects were investigated by using an incisional skin-wound model produced on the back of female diabetic C57BL/KsJ-m(+/+)Lept(db) mice (db(+)/db(+)) and their normoglycemic littermates (db(+/+)m). Animals were treated with rHuEPO (400 units/kg in 100 microl s.c.) or its vehicle alone (100 microl). Mice were ki...

The combined effect of recombinant human epidermal growth factor and erythropoietin on full-thickness wound healing in diabetic rat model.

Diabetic wound is a chronic wound in which normal process of wound healing is interrupted. Lack of blood supply, infection and lack of functional growth factors are assumed as some of the conditions that lead to non-healing environment. Epidermal growth factor (EGF) acts primarily to stimulate epithelial cell growth across wound. Erythropoietin (EPO) is a haematopoietic factor, which stimulates...

Effects of Recombinant Human Erythropoietin (rHuEpo) on the Blood Cells and Hematopoiesis in Spleen of Rats

Recombinant human erythropoietin is a glycoprotein hormone that stimulates erythropoiesis. In clonogenic assays of hematopoietic progenitors, high concen-trations of erythropoietin (Epo) increase CFU-E and diminish the number of granulocytes formed per culture plate. Fetal progenitors are more sensitive to these effects of Epo than progenitors from adults. We administered doses 50, 100, 200 IU/...

Human recombinant epidermal growth factor in experimental corneal wound healing.

Human recombinant epidermal growth factor (hEGF) was evaluated in various corneal wound healing models in the rabbit. Human EGF accelerated epithelial wound healing in corneal reepithelialization, anterior-keratectomy, and alkali-burn models at concentrations of 10-500 micrograms/ml given four times daily (qid). In the corneal reepithelialization model, 100 micrograms/ml of hEGF qid produced a ...
